Rakufuuan Shiomi Uchiwa(fan) is a workshop making Kyoto’s traditional crafts Kyoto Uchiwa(fan).
Kyoto is a traditional craftwork born from the accumulation of crafts such as bamboo work and woodworking that cherry blossoms in the Edo period Genroku Kyoto, the lacquerware that has flowered in the Imperial Palace, lacquer, fusuma painting and Yuzen cutting.
We combine traditional techniques and modern design sensibilities to practice everyday as we want to be aesthetic and artistic.

You can also show the manufacturing process and history lecture and the production scene of the workshop in spring and summer season.
You can bring home only one fan to a souvenir in the world you made yourself such as painting of a fan of paper with Japanese paper, painting experience of Cutting picture and making fan.

About 15 minutes by subway Tozai line from Kyoto city, 6 minutes by subway Tozai line from JR Tokaido Main Line Yamashina Station. Get off at Ono station soon.
In the vicinity, there are Plum garden and Zuishin-in with Onono Komachi, and a Kajyu temple recommended by Emperor Daigo.
Because the Daigoji Temple of World Heritage is the next station, we went for a walk.

After viewing the manufacturing process and history lecture, you will see the manufacturing scene of the workshop.
(There are things not done for off season etc.)
Cut out the Japanese paper using the cutter knife and make a watermark fan by yourself.
You can take home the tailor made by tailoring it as a souvenir.
