The “World’s Best Countries Ranking” was launched in 2016, and the 20-year survey was conducted in more than 20,000 people in 36 countries.
Based on an evaluation model developed by a research team at the University of Pennsylvania-Wharton, etc., nine items including cultural influence, quality of life, citizens’ rights, and business openness were surveyed and ranked.
Japan scored high on items such as “adventurous elements,” which include ratings of tourist attraction such as friendliness, fun, and scenery, and “business openness” based on tax and government transparency.
It is the highest-ranked Asian country and it ranks No. 5 among movers and No. 1 as the most forward-looking country.
